A WHOLE NECROPOLIS DISCOVERED NEAR SOUTHERN QUARTER IN VELIA GREEK EXCAVATION !!
A collection of broken and unbroken graves, some contained in ruins of what seem to be some mortuary chapels, have been discovered recently. Some graves are intact; and to avoid damages, with the help of an optic fiber probe, specialized archaelogists are investigating the content of each. According to some indiscretions both a warrior with his son and a child with a coin between teeth have been found through this special investigation. Some graves are perfectly preserved and have the typical hole through which the relatives fed their deads in the second life, according to the tradition.

* All the above pictures have been taken, after several attempts, with the help of a very big telephoto lens from outside of the protection net that surround the prohibited excavation area. Some pictures have been taken from the railway bridge that overhangs the new excavation area; some other at different heights scrambling up to a wood spear sustained by three friends !!
