- Our suggestions:
- January, February, March, November, December: the best value for our mild
winters; ideal for quiet archaelogical visits to the Velia and Paestum
excavations, the Padula St. Lawrence Carthusian Monastery, cultural and nature sites seeing, for local Campania food and wine tastings -here you will find the best selection of the Campania's red and white wines: taurasi, aglianico, piedirosso, fiano, falanghina, greco di tufo, falerno -, for winter hiking and horse riding, or simply for a romantic holiday in a secluded spot, relaxing in front of the fireplace looking out towards the sea.
- April: A holiday bargain, the weather is mild, although heating might
occasionally be needed at the beginning of the month. See Cilento in early
bloom. The sea temperature is cool but inviting for people used to ocean
swimming !
- May, October: the best absolute vacation value, wonderful beauty abounds, the Cilento in May is in full bloom, the views all around are worthy of an epic movie; in October the weather is usually still warm for swimming, in both months there are very few people, and you can plan to visit the Amalfi coast,
Meta and Sorrento, Positano, Ravello, Vietri sul Mare, Conca dei Marini, Cetara, Maiori, Minori, Capri, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Salerno, Naples and the Neapolitan coast, and Caserta without worrying about road traffic.
- June, September: the "alternate" top season at a good price, for people who can
take time off for a holiday during this period. Excellent weather can be
expected 99% of the time, there are a few people still milling around. These
months are excellent for all that Cilento has to offer.
- July, August: the top season in all of Italy and Cilento as well! Very lively
groups of vacationers, public sandy beaches are packed with people, but inland
the Cilento is quiet and offers enchanting landscapes as an escape from the
crowds. Since we are not located in the center of the village, our villa is
still quiet enough and our pebble beach below is more private and much less
crowded than other swimming areas nearby.
